Report in design mode

I have upgraded from Access 97 to Access 2002 and now when
we try to open a report in the design mode you get a
You do not have Exclusive Access to the database at this
time. I know for a fact that in Access 97 I was able to
open the reports in design mode even if someone was
entering data in the database.

Any suggest will be appreciated.

You're absolutely correct. You could do this in Access 97. In Access 2000 and above
you cannot.

In Access 97, this was true. However, in Access 2000 and newer, this
capability no longer is available. IMO, you should be doing your new
development, modifications and testing on your own copy of the database -
then exporting your new or modified objects to the production copy of your
database.
 
Just wondering if you have gotten a reply on this! I am
having the same exact problem!!!
