Hi there - can anyone help me - I have set a template for all my outgoing
emails in Outlook 2003 but so far I cannot find away to reply to emails with
the same template. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The Outlook feature closest to that is the reply signature.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your reply - can I modify the reply signature so that I can have
text at the top - similar to that in Word like a header & footer??

Claire

Email messages don't have headers and footers like documents do, but Outlook will insert your automatic reply signature at the top of the reply message. Tools | Options | Mail Formt | Signatures.

Hi Sue,

Thanks for your reply and I've managed to do it but when my signature is at
the top - I cannot spell check or format any text underneath it?

Any ideas??

claire

You shouldn't need to spell check text beneath it. Let the original message's typos stand; they're not your typos. Formatting certainly should be possible.

Has there been any update to this issue in the last couple of years ?
Are we yet able to use templates for Replies and Forwards ?
Thanks.

In depends on how you created your templates, how you want to use them and
in which version of Outlook.
Outlook offers various ways of inserting template text when
replying/forwarding. The method which is best for you completely depends on
your needs.

Hi Roady, many thanks for your reply, much appreciated and I have read
through that link.
I'm not entirely certain this is what I'm after though. What I'm looking for
is an automatic text/logo similar to the "Signature" function, which will
automatically kickin with every Reply or Forward.
I am developing some HTML templates of this sort which kickin automatically
for every new message, instead of using the Signature function.
Am I on the wrong track ? Thanks.

If you want this to happen on every reply or even every new message, then
using VBA to insert your template directly might be the most efficient way.

If you do not want to insert the same text for every new message or reply
then instead of using signatures for this, it's better to use AutoText or
Quick Parts (depending on your Outlook version). Inserting those can be done
with 1 or 2 clicks.

Many thanks Roady. I'll investigate the VBA route.
Need to make this as automated and foolproof as I can, so it works every
message. The objective is that contact details will show up on every message,
and minimise any messing by the users.
Much appreciated, thanks again.
