Replication warning messages -urgent *********************

The domain is xyz.com consisting of server1.xyz.com{domain
controller (global catalog server)} and server2.xyz.com
configured as additional domain controller.Exchange 2000
in installed on server1.
Server2 active directory database got corrupted resulting
in replication errors.server2 was disconnected,since
backup was not availble reinstalled OS on server2 without
demoting the server2.
the new backup server was named as 2server and configured
as additional domain controller(2server.xyz.com).
Replication was checked and found OK,but warning messages
observed in event viewer.
The messages were "..........server2.xyz.com"
all error messages were related to server2 which no longer
exists.cannot delete server2 from domain OU in active
directory users and computers and in active directory
sites and services.
let me know how to delete server 2 without affecting
server1.

Warning If you use the ADSI Edit snap-in, the LDP utility,
or any other LDAP version 3 client, and you incorrectly
modify the attributes of Active Directory objects, you can
cause serious problems. These problems may require you to
reinstall Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows
Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, Microsoft
Exchange Server 2003, or both Windows and Exchange.
Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems that occur if you
incorrectly modify Active Directory object attributes can
be solved. Modify these attributes at your own risk.
 
Based on what you have shown, not much choice. I'd make sure you backed up
the AD first and follow the instructions exactly....
