Replication; not enough disk space?

A

Andre Fortin

Hello,

I'm running a small domain with 2 domain controllers (currently the DCs are
the only members of the domain). The problem is that replication is not
happening in one direction. In AD S&S, if I go to my site, and select one
DC, and right click its connection and 'Replicate Now', there is no problem.
When I go to the other server and 'Replicate Now', I get this error:

The following error occurred during the attempt to synchronize the domain
controllers: There is not enough space on the disk.

The server in question has a single 75GB partition, with 71GB free. I also
had a hard time with the installation of the administration tools, which
also complained of not having sufficient disk space. I guess I have too
much space available, and it is confused. Does anyone know how to get
around this?

Please respond to mailing list and directly to my email address, thank you.

Andre,

Do we have disk quotas configured? Here are a few articles that explain
that behavior:

Andre,

While this may not be the problem, I do remember that with earlier MS
Service Packs ( SP1 and SP2 ) on MS Windows Professional clients users would
often receive this same error message. The only solution was to simply
reinstall the same Service Pack. Problem goes away.

Is it possible to try re-installing the Service Pack? I will admit that I
have never seen this error on Domain Controllers...

HTH,

Cary
