I have an ASUS P4C800-E deluxe mobo with sound max onboard sound. If I stick
a new PCI sound card in my system, what is the procedure for dealing with
the onboard sound during this process.....do I disable it in the bios, and
if so, when during the installation process should I disable it....or do I
have to touch the CMOS settings at all?????
Thanks much

Normally with onboard sound you do want to disable it in the BIOS. Then
shut down and put your PCI card in. Start the machine, boot into
Windows, install the drivers.
