Erik

I am replacing my server running active directory this
weekend. What should I know before I dive into this
project. We have all of our users logging into this
domain server, people have network shares, and I don't
want any workstations to create new users so I have to
drag outlook settings all to new domain accounts. I want
to name the domain something different also. Any tips?
I'm terrified. IS there a guide anywhere online?????

THANK YOU!!

Ask in the Windows Server newsgroup/. Initialy this has got nothing to do
with Outlook. Loosig settings is a result of bad migrating so better get
informed on how to migrate in the Server newsgroups.

Being an administrator myself I must say that your migration planning kinda
s*cks (sorry for that). Migrating isn't something you "just do over the
weekend". It involves good planning, testing and a rollback plan (tested as
well) in case things go wrong. Diving into this now and migrating tomorrow
sounds a bit too late to me.

If I were you, I will setup the new domain first and then
export everything into the new domain over few weeks then
trying to get this done in a weekend and if you only have
one domain controller and you are trying to rebuild it and
call it something new, then you might be looking for a new
job on monday but in case if you need to hire someoone to
come in and get the job done for you, I live in the DC
area and can come by over the weekend and work with you...
Thanks,
Sal
