I am planning on upgrading my computer with a better motherboard and processor. I will just cannabalize my already upgraded hds, vidoe cards etc. to the new case. Will I have a problem with XP updates since Windows XP Home Edition was installed on another MB or are the codes imbedded in the software's OS? I don't want to buy a full version of the OS if I don't have to.
Thanks,

Chaz

XP should automatically detect the hardware change and
install all the correct drivers. Make sure you have your
XP install disk handy (just in case) it needs it. You
may end up having to call the mothership "Microsoft" for a
new activation code. XP will probably detect this as a
major change and think your installing on more then one
computer.
