I'm having a really tough time w/ Duplicates

I've just re-organized all my Outlook Files/Entries but I'm still a bit
confused as to replacing my existing Outlook pst file with the new organized
one.

When I export an Outlook file over an existing one, am I just adding- on to
what is already there or am I actually replacing everything?

When I import the new pst file into the Outlook on My Laptop should I clear
ALL data files so as to not create Duplicates or is there an easier way?

Thanks

Exporting, importing and overwriting are never used with PST files. You
never move or rename any PST file that is still connected to an Outlook
profile.
If you want to transfer a PST file to another profile, you open in in that
profile. If you want to replace the existing PST file, then set the new one
as the default, restart Outlook, and close the older PST file.
