Replacing MDE

I've created a copy of the database on my C drive to modify some of the
forms. Now I want to replace the MDE on a shared directory. Do I create the
MDE on my C drive and then copy it to the shared directory, or do I replace
the database on the shared directory and then create the MDE? The database
is split on the shared directory.

Thanks!

It doesn't matter where you create the mde file, but if your users are
sharing one copy of the mde, you should change that. Each user should have
their own copy of the mde on their computer, not on a shared folder.

Thanks Dave. Each user does have their own copy -- I have to make rounds to
update their copies from the shared directory. I just wasn't sure if I had
to replace the database or only the MDE on the shared directory.

You only have to change the mde.

Here is the link to a utility that will keep you from having to make the
rounds to update each user.

Basically, when you release a new version, you don't have to do anything.
When a user opens their copy, it will automatically update to the new version.
