I have had to replace the mother board in a Windows XP
system and have been unable to get Windows XP to boot up
using the original drive. I suspect a driver problem
since the new mother board is different then the
original. Is there a way to get Windows XP to load new
drivers for the new mother board? It won't boot up in
safe mode either.

Is this an OEM system (i.e. was windows installed when you purchased it)? If
so, you may find that your restore/recovery/rescue disc(s) may no longer be
valid. Most major OEMs BIOS lock their installations - this means that there
is a code on the CD and a code in the BIOS. By replacing the motherboard
you've invalidated the licence and it will not reinstall because there is no
code in the BIOS. If this is the case, your only choice is to purchase a
retail licence.
