I have to replace an intermittent hard drive. I have transferred as many files as I can using back up and Nero Back up. Windows XP does not recognize some of the programs being installed. I have an OEM copy of MS OFFICE that I am trying to transfer. I have lost the disk that came with the computer and Dell is going to charge their full retail price for a replacement.

How do I get the XP to recognize the MS OFFICE? Do I copy registry files?

Don't think you can, you need to install office off an installation CD.

You will need a CD.
The application needs to be installed, simply copying the files and a
few registry entries will not do it.
