Replacing Hard Disk

-----Original Message-----
I have 2 hard drives on my PC with "dual boot"

The primary master disk (C:) has the Win98 and the
primary slave drive (D:) has the WinXP

Due to problem with the first hard drive (C:) I had to
replace it (I used Ghost to copy the Win98 operating
system to the new drive).

When I restarted my system and boot to the Win98 the new
disk appears as C: but when I reboot to the WinXP the
operating system did not recognize the new disk as C: but
it gives it a different letter.

Since this is the boot disk, the WinXP is not letting me
to change its letter.

Disk D: is not bootable so I can not boot to it directly.

Dose any one know how to reassign the C: letter to disk
after it is replaced?

Is their any way to make disk bootable after it has an
operating system on it?

Fast response will be appreciated

Have you tried changing your boot sequence in your bios,
you know, the little message when you boot up that
says "press del to change bios settings", or something to
that note.

It could be many things. I don't think that the boot
sequence is the answer...

Can you boot into 98? Are the drives correct when you do
that?

If d is not a bootable drive..how are you getting into
XP????

If you can answer these questions I might be able to fix
your issue!

Have a great day!
