I want to replace my current single disk DC with a new RAID DC. I need to use
the same name and IP address for the DC. This is the master DC on the domain.
How can I accomplish this without losing the user accounts or SID?

Thank you,

Do you have a 2nd DC in the domain? Assuming that you do, simply make sure
that all of your information is replicating correctly. Then:

Transfer all FSMO roles to DC2:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;324801

Run DCPROMO.EXE to cleanly remove DC1 from the domain.

Take DC1 offline. Install the "new" DC1, add it to the domain and run
DCPROMO again to re-add the new box as a domain controller.

Some caveats:

Make sure that your DNS records are updated correctly, esp. if you're not
using dynamic DNS.

You may need to delete DC1's computer account from Active Directory Users &
Computers before returning the new DC1 to the domain.

If you cannot cleanly demote DC1, you'll need to run a metadata cleanup from
DC2 to remove references to the old DC1 before adding the new DC1 to the
domain: http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBJ/tip4900/rh4984.htm
