Replacing a Missing Key?

I had trouble with the installation of a Maxtor external USB/Firewire HD
drive. Then it would not uninstall! So, I removed all instances I could find
in the registry.

Now when I install the drive software ("drivers"), the installation seems to
work fine, but the drive and drive letter show only in some applications
(Device Manager) and not in others (Windows Explorer).

My guess is that I removed a key and not just the value for the key.

Is there any way to determine what key is missing and reinstall it?

Thanks!

What does Disk Management have to say about it? Did you partition/format and
assign it a drive letter?
