HI all, I'm new heer so please ofrgie my ignorance!!
I had a 6800GT graphics card which a couple of weeks ago to my huge dismay blew up.

So I sent it back as it was still under warrentee however my computer supplier have discontinued this range (is it true that the 6800GT has been discontinued?) anyway they said i can get any replacment card i wish for as they will credit me with the value of a 6800GT.

What should i do??

Many thanks

Rich

What make is it? Is it AGP or PCI-E? AFAIK they are still in production....

What 'computer supplier' was it?

Sounds like you can get a replacement though so its not all bad.

AGP... GeForce... I don't know much about graphics cards so im pretty useless, hope come you think i should get a refund and buy elsewhere.. as i remember i got quite a good deal on it when i bought it with my PC

Did they tell you it had been discontinued? If so then i agree with Me, i personally wouldn't trust them....

Yeah they did, but they werent clear whether they had discontinued it form their range of PCs and therefore don't stock it anymore or whether it has been actually discontinued. I wasn't sure. But if i had to get it replaced would i get a 6800GT again or a different graphics card? what would you suggest?

the ATI equivalent would be what... an X800XT?

Google benchmarking results and do some research before replacing - you may find you can get better one for same price.

How much money can you get refunded in total?
