not sure if last msg went thru:

is there a program that can replace Windows Find Files that'll do the
following:

* Look for duplicates (with wildcard support) in spec. folder and
all sub folders (not just from root) either by name, date, and / or
size.

* display duplicate files (and paths) only

For example I want to use the wild card (*.*) function and return ONLY
duplicate files in a directory and all of its sub-directories (either
by name, size, and / or date).

I also want to be able to copy all duplicates into ONE directory
(thereby rename the file in sequential order scheme).

Is this possible? Is there a program that could do this?

google gave me an error so sorry if it is duplicated. ;-)

not sure if this is quite what you're after or not, but it ->might<- be
able to do what you want.

ReplaceEm

http://2003.pricelessware.org/PL2003TEXT.htm#Search&ReplaceTool

ReplaceEm is essentially a text search-and-replace program. However, unlike
the search-replace functionality of a standard text editor, ReplaceEm is
designed to operate on multiple files at once. And you need not only
perform one search-replace operation per file -- you can setup a list of
operations to perform. If different groups of files need to have different
operations performed on them, this is no problem either. You can also
specify a backup file for each file processed just in case the replace
operation didn’t do exactly what you wanted.
