Hi there,

I have used a number of Radeon AIW cards for capturing video from both
analogue & digital inputs. However, I now need a faster graphics card
and since ATI no longer manufacture AIW cards, I need an alternative.

The grahics card itself is no problem. I intend to get a Radeon 4850
or 4870. However, can anyone advise me about what to get for video
capture in order to achieve results at least on a par with the AIW
cards?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

There are two Diamond/ATI AIW cards available now. They are new and the
second (more expensive one) gets more favorable reviews than the first.

If you feel the 3650 isn't fast enough for you (it is more than fast
enough for video, but you will need something faster for games) and
still want to get the 4850/70, this tuner card is probably the best one
out of the many listed. It works very well picking up signals and gives
a clear, sharp picture.

However, if you want to do more than just watch TV on your computer
(recording, timed recording), you'll need a much better software package
than what is included with the tuner card. There are two that are
available that work with Hauppauge tuners (and others) and are spoken of
highly in the reviews of the tuner card:
