hello,
we upgraded some of our systems the other day and my old
TS license server was removed and a new added. the new
server is not handing out any CALS to clients but the
clients are connecting fine. there are no entries in the
servers event log, nor the clients, indicating there is a
problem. i have changed the registry entries on my TS to
look for the new license server. i assume i will have a
problem after 70-90 days. can someone tell me why
licenses are not being distributed?
thanks for your time.

sorry,
the (old and new) lic server is a win2k server (sp4) and
my clients are win2k and NT4 only.

Maybe you don't have a problem at all. Since all clients
presumable already have a TS CAL (which they got from the previous
LS), they will continue to use that. That's why you don't see any
TS CALs issued from the new LS.
I assume that you have installed you TS CALs on the new LS? If you
want to be absolutely sure that it works, you could dlete the TS
CAL from one of the clients (take a W2K client), which forces it
to grab a new one from the LS (a temporary TS CAL on the first
connection, a permanent TS CAL on the second connection).

i connected from a nt4 client soon after the LS came up
(and after calling the clearinghouse) and it worked fine
the first time, didn't work the second as it disconnected
w/ a msg. i removed the client's registry entry, it
connected, and took a lic. but since that one was the only
one showing i was afraid i would need to remove the entry
from each client regsitry.
thanks for the reply!
