Replaced corrupt Normal; can't see NewMacros

I just replaced my Normal.dot. Searched the newsgroup and found how to
transfer modules and toolbars and all. NewMacros module has lots of macros,
some of which were on my toolbars (yeah, I know *now* - they weren't custom
toolbars, so I couldn't bring them over). I've copied the NewMacros module
over, so I have all the macros. But they don't show up under Tools>>Macros
or Alt+F8. They also don't show up under Customize>>Macros so I can redo my
toolbar buttons. Can I ever get them back?

G'Day Ed,

I am not sure what YOU mean by 'copy', nor
where they were copied 'from'.

I asume that you renamed the old NORMAL.DOT
to (say) SOMENAME.DOT.

Did you use the Word 'Organiser'?
[Tools>Templates and addins>Organiser (button)]

A bit more detail?

Sorry, Pat. Yes, I renamed Normal and let Word create another Normal.
(Aside: the more I use Word, the more I'm convinced Normal is just a
setting on the dryer!) Not realizing the Organizer existed for just such an
occasion, I opened both Normal and OldNormal in the VBA editor, and
drag-dropped all my modules and forms from the old to the new. NewMacros
would not work like that, so I opened the OldNormal NewMacros module, copied
everything, opened Normal NewMacros and pasted it all in.

If I go to the VBE, find a macro and F5, it runs. In the document or in
VBE, under Tools>>Macros, the names of the subs in the NewMacros module are
not on the list. I can select a sub and paste it into a new module, and
it's available. If I need to, I'll just paste the whole thing into a new
module, since multiple subs in a single module are available. This is the
first time I've had to deal with a corrupt template, and I want to make sure
I'm not making too many mistakes.

Ok Ed,

I'd be interested in finding out the nature of the
'corruption' in the oldNormal.

I can't see anything wrong with using VBEditor
as you have done - unless you have somehow
'copied' the corruption OR unless the first Module
(NewMacros) needs to be created by Word
itself - I can't see why, but I haven't tested
this!

If you decide to try the Organiser - let's know
how it goes.
