Can I delete IE and then reload it without causing a problem

Application error. The intruction at"0x03bfc512 referenced memory at
0x00000000" The memory could not be read Check OK to terminate the
program. This problem came up after I had an MSN tech help me on line
remotely. solve a slow internet connection problem. He went into
areas I don't even know and the result was this problem. He then told
me to install "Foxbox" as my browser and not use IE. I am confused
and need some help.
