I did the following. Using the help in Outloook, I exported my contacts to
a
.PST file by using the Import Export Wizard. I then placed this on a CD
and
copied it to a new computer, in the My Documents folder. I then imported
the
contnents into my new computer with a new contacts folder by using the
export
import wizard. After two days the BIOS in my new computer caused the
computer to become inoperable. I had a third computer built and the
company
that built it used PC Relocator to transfer all of my files, folders,
programs and setting to the computer I am now using. The contact folder
that
was transferred over only contained names, addresses, and telephone
numbers -
no e-mails although all of the information was on the old computer. I
again
tried the export import wizard to transfer the .PST but file. However,
the
message I get is that "you have chosen to import a folderwhose type
differs
from the selected folder. The items will be imported into a new folder
with
the same name." The result is that I have two contacts folder but I can't
transfer the e-mail addresses to the one that Outlook has a default.
Thanks for your help.

Importing is never the correct way to transfer Outlook data.
Explain in detail what you did.
Explain why you cannot copy the contents of one Contacts Folder to
another.

I imported my contacts folder from one computer to another. However, on
the import none of the e-mail addresses appeared. I then imported the
PAB
address book and it appears as a second contact folder. However, I
can't
get the second folder to replace the contacts folder or get the second
folder copied to the original contact folder. Nor can I delete the
contacts
folder so that I only have the PAB version. How can I do this?
