Hello all,

I'm working on a presentation and would like to have a single slide repeat
itself if the user chooses to go to the next slide by clicking or keypress.
So instead of going to the next slide, it either refreshes the current slide
or does nothing.

I have set up an action button on this slide that will guide the user to the
next slide.

I had two scenarios in mind, but can seem to find a working solution:
1) For the slide change set it to return to the current slide
2) Set up a dummy slide that automatically goes to the previous slide

I'm using PowerPoint 2003. Any help or ideas are much appreciated!

One way would be to draw an autoshape (rectangle) that covers the entire
slide. Then, double click on the autoshape, set the fill transparency to 99%.
This will create an invisible rectangle. Have it hyperlink to the current
slide.
Alternately, click slide show > Slide Transition. Put a checkmark to on
mouse click. This will disable user from advancing to the next slide through
mouse click.

If you want to the disable keypress, click Slide Show > Set Up Show. Select
Browsed at a kiosk mode. This will disable all keys except the escape key. In
addition, slide will advance only through hyperlinks when running in kiosk
mode.

Thanks for the reply,

Is it possible to do the redirect with a keypress without using kiosk mode?
The presentation will be distributed online.

I'm assuming that you have multiple slides in the presentation itself?

You can add that particular slide into a custom show (Click Slide Show >
Custom Shows > New). Then, add an action button on the previous slide. Have
that action button hyperlinks to the custom show. Put a checkmark to "show
and return" if you want to go back to the previous slide upon exit.

Now, click Slide Show > Set Up Show. Put a checkmark to "Loop continuously
until 'Esc'" so that the custom show will loop when you try to advance using
keyboard.
