Repeated "updates are ready..." messages

I keep getting the same "updates are ready..." icon for Security update
KB923723. I click to download, click to install and everything seems to go
fine, then 30 seconds later the icon appears again for the same update. How
do I make it go away?

Using Windows XP home edition, fully updated. IE 7.0 also fully updated.

Thanks for the ideas. I think they helped. Now I get a hidden update message
when I update, but I can live with that...VR
