Repeated SYSTEMced problem

I have been experiencing this corrupted systemced error -
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=269075 - repeatedly for
the last few months (about 4 times since Xmas). I know how
to fix it, but it is a pain.

Lately, I have been monitoring my "system" file daily, and
it grew from 2752kb to 12,124kb over the past 2 weeks. I
have tried using downloaded registry cleaners without much
success.

Do anyone know the cause, and hopfully a prevention, or a
workaround. I am running W2K SP4.

Hi Simon

I had this issue on a Gigabyte GA-7DX motherboard. Tried it with the
makers drivers and without ... but regularly had the corruption you are
experiencing.

Eventually gave up and put Win98 SE on it, which it ran fine.

6 months later the motherboard died and I replaced it with a Gigabyte
7VAX .. same CPU / Memory / Hard drives etc .... this time Win 2000
installed and ran trouble free ...
