Repeated failed downloads

Is there anyone out there who can help with this problem.
There seems to be a deadly silence about it on the web.
Whenever I download a file, when it unpacks I get this
error message,' The executable you are trying to run has
been corrupted, please obtain another copy, vrify its
integrity and try again.'
I'm not using a web accelerator and have tried with and
without virus scanner operating. Several different files
have behaved in this way and repeating the downloads does
not work. Running Windows XP on an Athlon XP 2200+. My
gratitude to anyone who can help.

Hi

Do you get the same error message with every update? How do you mean a 'deadly silence'? Any details that you have would be appreciated.

Hi Geoff,

I get that error sometimes when I download files from the internet too. It
could be that the file was corrupt when whomever uploaded it. Many sites
have mirroring sites (different locations) where the files can be download
again. Maybe you should try another site and see if you can that same
error.

Hope this helps,
Newtechie
