My Windowsxp suddenly developed an annoying habit. My drive is partitioned.
Half way through each boot-up my screen changes to blue and I am informed :
"Check For Consistency! - One of your disks needs to be checked for
consistency. To stop click on any letter within 9 seconds." Etc.
I defrag my partitions regularily. Each of them works with-in its
parameters. How do I stop this behaviour? Thanks for any answer!

Really check the hard drive with an application from its manufacturer.. You
may have defective hardware and you are lucky enough to have a warning.

Go to the hard disk manufacturer's web site and download their diagnostic software
respective to your hard disk. After the test, you will know if the hard disk is bad or
not..
