I feel like I've just forgotten how to do this from the DOS days, but I
have an 3.2Gb drive from an old laptop (2.5" drive) that was
partitioned for C: and a logical D:. These can be formatted for FAT32
which is what I want to use this as an external USB drive, but how can
I repartition this drive for a single storage letter of the full 3.2Gb?

Haven't played with an old drive like this for a long time.

Just delete both partitions and create a new one for the entire space.

That will lose the data in those partitions.

I've reported you to the RSPCTPPTLUOHD.

If you want to keep the data, Gnu Parted is a free tool
to do it.

Thanks, everyone.

Don't need to save data, I will just delete all the partitions and use
Disk Management to repartition for the full size of the physical drive
then reformat FAT32 (Being used by a Linux NAS with W98, W2000 and XP
clients). Am I correct in setting the jumpers for this external USB
drive to Master? I think that means no jumpers at all on the old 3.5Gb
Travelstar that I am using.

Yep, that's all you need to do.

And that is the best format in those circumstances.

Yes.

Hitachi took over support for those
