OK, installing what exactly? msdart is a dll with OLE DB runtime routines
(MS Data Access Components).

Are you referring to a W2K upgrade? If so, follow the proper procedures or
you'll be sorry. I specifically remember reading warnings about MDAC during
W2K upgrades in their documentation. You can't upgrade from WinME. And run
"winnt32 /checkupgradeonly" found in your W2K CD within the I386 directory.

start a prompt / command interpreter, switch to I386 directory and type
"winnt32 /checkupgradeonly".

Hi

This is the original problem.

I'm having a problem with repairing a windows 2000 prof.

I get all the way thru the disks and when the question of
repairing comes it tells me it can't find a Windows 2000
installation. I then have to quit and restart. When I
restart there is all my information. I used registry
mechanic and must have inadvertently deleted something
because when I try to install a new software program I
bought it gives me an error, that is why I tried to repair
