disc and the run command? Please help. Thnx

To do a Repair in XP, you need to boot with the XP CD installed.

But first, boot into your BIOS and set the CD_ROM player to boot before the
Hard Drive does, then insert the XP CD and reboot your computer.

Watch the screen for the message "Press any key to boot from the CD",
displayed on your screen and press the Enter key.

When you see the following message displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen,
"To setup Windows XP now", press Enter.

At this point an option to press R to enter the Recovery Consol is
displayed. DO NOT SELECT THIS OPTION.

Continue on through until you see the Windows XP Licensing Agreement screen,
press F8 to agree to the license agreement.

Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the
box, and then press the R key to repair Windows XP.

Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.
The repair of XP takes about the same length of time as an original install.

This article originated from Doug Knox's Website.

A word of caution here, do not press any keys once the Repair begins.
The program will reboot as needed automatically.
