I suspect my Window's Explorer, or a support file has a problem. It had
problems handling graphics. It likes to crash. No problems unless it is
displaying graphics (Icons don't seem to be a problem).

I have tried quite a few things and I would like trying a re-install of
just Explorer, if that is possible.

Is it? If so how?

Windows XP OE Home edition. All updates known to Bill Gates have been
applied.

Hi,

Go to Start > Run and type 'sfc /scannow' (without quotation marks and
with a space between the c and the forward slash) it will need the
Windows XP CD. This will look for damaged or missing Windows system
files and replace them with those of the CD.

You might have to go to Windows Update and download all updates again.
Be sure to use a firewall (either XP's own or a third-party firewall)
before you connect to the Internet.

Good luck
