I have recently noticed that certain shortcuts have
stopped working as well as some programs have stopped
responding..Example would be clicking on a link in a e-
mail and it locks up the program..Another would be
clicking on Windows update in my start menu and nothing
happens yet if I open internet explorer and click on the
link under help it takes me right there.I have searched
device manager for conflicts as well removed some programs
(recent installs) to find out if they were the problem...I
have even done a system restore back as far as a
month...however I am still finding problems..Is there a
utility that can search out and repair problems with my
system or am I going to have to do a repair from the xp
cd ??..Also since my system is connected to my high speed
through a router will I have to reconfigure that as
well...Extremely frustrated with these problems and need a
cure..Running xp home with all the updates,,Norton
security 2004,,Norton antivirus 2004,950mhz processor with
450 mgs of ram,,Nvidia ge force4 mx420 video card..Santa
Cruz sound card,,There is not much left of the originally
shipped Gateway computer except the mobo and processor..
even the hard drive has been replaced with a Western
Digital 40 gig internal hard drive when I reformatted and
installed xp the last time..I have a secondary hard drive
that I use for storage..I know this sounds long winded but
tdid not know whether this info was helpful or not...
Thanks in advance as always for any and all help.....Drew
