Repair / restore Vista Premium on a laptop...

I haven't done it before on Vista (but several times on WinXP) -
what would be the simplest way to restore / repair operating
system Vista Premium on a laptop (Acer 5920G)? I'd
appreciate links to help or hints from own experience.
