Repair NetBIOS...

mene

NetBIOS is not working, I am assuming it is a result of some malicious
software (spyware, virus, etc). A number of infections were on this
computer for whatever reason.

If I were to execute nbtstat it would return a driver failure, throughout my
troubleshooting process I have managed to get the command to return
absolutely nothing now. The reason why I think NetBIOS is broken is because
I cannot connect to or provide any share access from this machine. It was
once working, nothing regarding the network has changed.

The following things have not resolved this issue:

1. Resetting IP via NETSH
2. Importing the NetBT registry settings from another computer
3. SFC
4. Updated all virus engines, ran full scans
5. Ran full scans with MS Anti-Spyware and Adaware

IPCONFIG always returns NETBIOS over TCP/IP is disabled, even though it is
enabled in the TCP/IP configuration. Does anyone know how to
reinstall/repair NetBIOS? Reinstalling windows is not an option.

Thanks for any suggestions, I seem to be able to find only unresolved posts
about this type of issue.

TIA mene

If this was my machine then I would delete everything
found under networking (Client for MS Networks,
File & Printer Sharing, TCP/IP, Network Adapter),
reboot the machine, then re-install the lot by following
the prompts.
