I have XP Professional. I have used it since it came out. Several months ago I made a mistake removing a program ACDSee using JV16 Power Tools registry editor. It was not the programs fault! It was mine totally. I could not get back into XP. I used the Disk and re-installed. The results:
Launching GPEdit.msc from the run command gives me the GUI but nothing is there except red circles with X's in them.
I lost my Desktop Tab in in Display properties
In control panel the Fonts icon doesn't work
In control Panel Administartive tools doesn't work
Oddly everything else works fine. I hate to re-install as I have spent hours configuring several Flight SIMMs that I am addicted to. Plus tyhe trill of the HUNT to see if I can fix my mistake.
So, How do I restore, repair, or replace the Group Policy Editor?
