repair internet browser version 6

We need to repair the browser on the internet version 6.
Can I request step by step help on how to do that? Our
local dial up connection works but we kept receiving
network connection failed boxes so the local service told
me that I needed to repair the browser and Windows XP Home
Edition came with the computer purchased 2 yrs ago.

Can you post the exact error message. Coz, you don't need to reinstall IE if it is a connectivity [dial-up] issue.
