I tried to do a repair install of XP Pro into which the SP2 was
slipstreamed. The installation went OK but Windows could not see my Nvidia
video card. It didn't have any adapter in Dev Manager and only diplayed an
ATI or Intel adapter in the New Hardware
wizard.
I am running an AMD XP 2500,Kingston 512MB PC2700,Gigabyte GA-7VT600 ,
NVIDIA GeForce2 Ti [Display Adapter, two Maxtor HDs,CDRW and DVD Rom
I wound up having to use a Ghost backup to restore my system.
Any ideas??

Bob it pays to keep a copy of the latest video drivers on cd just in case
this problem happens. I have had similar problems myself while repairing an
installation but, luckily, I have always had a copy of the latest drivers
available so I can remedy the problem.
Having said that, and I know it is a pin because you loose all your other
applications, I would rather do a clean install nowadays than a repair.
Failing that I would do as you have done, re-image the drive.
