Hi,
I have setup a CA on one of my test Win2K for test purposes last year. I
issued some server certificates for another IIS machine and 2 client
certificates for 2 other test machines, always.
One of the client certifcate going tro expire on May 15. When I open the
Certifcate store in mmc on the machine where the client certificate is
installed, right click the "certificate in logical store Viiew-->persoanl",
I see I have 4 choices,
A - Rerquest certificate with new key
B - request certificate with same key
C - renew certifcate with new key
D - renew certifcate with same key
Chosing D, a dialog bax is displayed indicating there is no authority to
process request

Chosing any other option gives the same result.
I checked my CA on the other server, I can see the certificate issued last
year but only have the choice to "Revoke".

So the question : How do I renew the client certificate ? what is the
necessary procedure to follow. I visited some step-by-step pages on
microsoft web site but was unsuccessfull to find info about Renewing
Certificate, exe : "Step-by-Step Guide to Advanced Certificate Management"

thanks for your help

Did you make any changes to the CA, since you've issued the original
certificate?
What is the exact error message you're getting when you try to renew your
cert?

Hi,
No, no changes have been made to the CA. When clicking on the certificate in
the Personal Folder I get the following error :
-----------------
This certificate cannot be renewed because it does not contain enough
information to generate a renewal request.
Please request à new certificate
-----------------
But when clicking when doing renew on the certificate in Local computer
folder I get
--------------
there is no authority to process the request
-------------

Thanks in advance
