when i render a movie with Moviemakeri get a far too light video on my puter,
it is totally overexposed. But when uploaded to Youtube it is fine. I have
tried playing them on several vid players. I have just had a re-format on
puter and a new start but before that it was ok.

i assume its a codec problem so have downloaded & installed latest Divx and
ffdshow to no avail.

my version of MM is 2.1.4026.0

help and tips would be appreciated

Sounds like you may have an
issue with your video driver.

Hi thanks John.

I have FX 5700LE graphics card and running NVIDIA settings mini prog and
have set all back to default and its still the same.

i downloaded 175.19_geforce_winxp_32bit_english_whql just to see if i could
update drivers but this exe file would not run .. "unable to create the
specified output folder" was the error message

So I am still struggling unfortunately, more ideas would be welcome

Just as a test...you could reduce your Graphic
Hardware Acceleration...if the issue with Movie
Maker is improved...it is a strong indicator that
your video driver needs an update.

yeah when i reduced the graphic harware accelerator to zero the rendered MM
files played with perfect colour. I returned it to just one notch off the
maximum speed and the error came back.

It also indicates my drivers are dated 2005 so pretty old. I will try again
to update them from Nvidia site.

Many thanks for your help John I will post back when I get success.

You'r welcome...it looks like your video driver
is at the root of this issue.

There are some install tips at the nVidia site.
And...it's best if you download the file to your
hard drive before installing. I always download
them to my desktop.

Good luck.
