Renaming Tables in Access 2002

When attempting to rename tables (or queries, forms, reports), as I'm typing in the new name, I loose focus on the name as though I hit Enter. If I select the object to be renamed and type nothing, the same thing occurs in 5 to 10 seconds. I've been using Access 2002 for quite some time, and this just started. Also, I've noticed in Word 2002 (and just started also), it appears to be doing an autosave every 5-10 seacods, although autosave is set at 10 minutes.

Just a guess....could you have a bad keyboard? If one presses the Tab key while renaming
an object in Access, it will act as if the Enter key was pressed. In Word, Ctrl S is the
same as Save, so perhaps this key combination is getting sent every so often (although I
noticed that Ctrl S does not make a difference when renaming a table in Access). I'd try
a different keyboard as a first shot at solving this problem. Also a complete reboot if
you normally just hibernate your system at the end of the day.
