If I rename a security group in Windows 2003 will the changes
automatically be updated across all of our file servers? we have a
couple of Win 2000 file servers and a NAS Filer on our network.

Will I have any issues with users logging onto the network and gaining
access after renaming the security group?

Thanks in advance,
Psycho

Yes, because mostly just the SID is actually attached to the resource
permissions etc.

But in a multi-domain forest this is the reason for INFRASTRUCTURE
MASTERS -- they fix up the "rename" stored in other domains IF they
are not holding a GC.

Why not a GC? Because the IM run periodically and compares itself
to a GC -- were they on the same machine, there would never be a
"difference."
