Renaming music files

Hello
As I am a stickler for neatness, I like to rename my music files in a
uniform way, eg. artist, song name. I have noticed, however, that when
people upload songs from me the file names of the songs have reverted back to
the originals. But when I look at the files in the folder they are in, they
are still renamed. I know this is no big problem, I am just curious as to
why this is happening.

When you rename your music files do you just change the file name or do
you also change the track tags?

Do you have the rename & rearrange settings turned on under Tools >
Options >LIbrary?

To respond to both of the replies, I do not have the rename & rearrange
setting turned on; as for the tags, I let the media player add missing info.
