Renaming Comments

Is there a way to rename comments placed on slides? I would like t
remove the "MSOffice1", "MSOffice2", etc. and replace with somethin
more descriptive.

I'm sure there's a way. Just can't find it.

Where are you seeing MSOffice1, etc?
Which version of PowerPoint, by the way?
 
I think I understand what you want to do, but don't know how to do it. That
"MSOffice1", etc. is built for each comment. Generally, it is the username
of the person making the comment, followed by the number of the comment in
the file (first one, second one, etc.) However, I don't know how to change
these to something else. If you change the username, it will still use the
same username for all the comments added by that user.

Thank you for your reply. Your answer makes sense. It's surprisin
that comments cannot be renamed at this point. It seems like you ca
rename anything in any Microsoft product.

It seems that comments are *very* tightly tied to the current presentation
author's name/initials

So much so that while you can use VBA to create a new comment with the same
text as an existing one, but different author name and initials, PowerPoint
will display it that way only briefly, then change it back to the current
author's initials/name.
