hi,
i am looking for one freeware which is for renaming files not only the file
name but the extension as well.
that's if i going to rename for example, ABC.dat ;then by righ click ,by
this freeware i could change it into new name DEF.mpeg at the same time.

Another one is 'Oscar's Renamer', with an original concept : selected
filenames are imported in a kind of Notepad that can be update normally as a
txt file. Once finished, hitting a button will do the rename.

No separate program is needed, this is built into windows. Right click
on the file, select rename, and type in the new name, including
extension.

Are you looking for some other feature you didn't mention?
