Could some one please explain how to rename a project after it has been
saved in visual basic 2005 express.
I can start and save the original project but after closing it then
reopening it and making changes I can't save it with a new name.
What I would like to do is create a project called boilerplate that I
can have most of the controls ,textboxes and whatever on the form then
open it and save it with a new name. As it is now I have to start all
over from the beginning.
Thanks.

Why do you want to save the project under a new name? Do you want two
projects that works with the same files?

I would like to create a template that I can put in the controls that I
use the most of the time and then save it as a template then any time
that I would like to build a new application that is similar to the
last one I won't have to rebuild the entire application from scratch .
Or I would like to take an application that I have done edit it and
make to make it in to a new application with out having to redo the
entire application.
I if I do that now and save it save with the original project name and
I lose the original project.

Not sure if the express edition allows for exporting 'templates' or not, but
I think that that is really what you are trying to do. See if 'Export
Template' is on the file menu. If not then you could always resort to the
'brute force' method. Go to the folder containing the project, copy it,
rename the copy, open it, rename the solution files and the project foler,
open the project folder, rename the project file.

It's there. (Export Template....that is. :)
