renamed mdb > dat > email with hotmail > now I can't open it

Thanks Doug. It didn't, however I found out what was up.
I just right-clicked the file and chose properties.
At the bottom it said something like: "this file came from another computer
yadayada.."
I pressed the button "Remove block" and it worked.

Weird. I has the problem with an mde I sent someone also - maybe this will
sort it out.

Sometimes (a lot recently) Microsoft's security measures just make ordinary
file use/emailing troublesome.

Note: you only saw that message because you were an administrator
on that PC. In corporate environments where the users are not
administrators on their own PC's, they have the same problem
but don't see the solution.

Notice that Outlook is allowed to create a mail merge source
file with the extension .Doc, but Access is not. Sometimes
it feels like we are not the most import market in the MS
constellation...

Holy cow! How can that make any sense? You'd have to be Albert Einstein
to realize what was going on :-(

FYI, Your system clock seems to be off by almost a year.

Sorry I just flashed the BIOS on my computer tonight and hadn't noticed.
Should be in order now.
