I renamed the administrator account on xp 64-bit, but
instead of renaming it looks like it copied it because I
am unable to rename it back to administrator. When I try
this Windows tell me that this account already exists -
which it appears to under the computer manager.
Unfortunately, this account is not available to log into
when the machine boots up.

So far I have not had a single XP compatible program work
in XP 64-bit version. Is this the expected behavior?

Best regards,
Bill

Bill please repost to the specific group for the support of your preview
program copy of Windows XP x64 Edition.
Access to this group is covered at
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/evaluation/upgrade.mspx

As regards applications running on x64 - I run a large number of 32-bit
applications without any issues at all.
Obviously you cannot run a 32-bit program that requires a device driver that
is not 64-bit (anti virus programs etc).
