Rename the domain

What's the best process for getting a new domain name setup?

I have a simple shop with 25 computers and 2 domain controllers (no member
servers).

The current domain name is goofy.pluto and I'd like it changed to
ourdomainname.com.

On the windows 2000 web site I see a domain rename tool, but when I go to
download it the documentation says it only works with Windows 2003. So why
is it in the Windows 2000 downloads list?

My initial thoughts are:

Create a new domain/forest from scratch (this idea is poo in my opinion)
Create a new domain within the forest of my original domain (I have *NO*
idea how to do this - I've never dealt with domain forests unless camping
counts)
Somehow use the domain rename tool to do my bidding

Thoughts?

What's the URL you were looking at? AFAIK, you can't rename a domain in W2k
without blowing it away and starting over. W2003 is different.

Is it really that important that you rename it?

Your (Poo) option is the only one. Rebuild the domain
from scratch if you are on W2K. You can only "rename"
the domain in 2003.
