Joan,
In Expression the "local" and "remote" terms are interchangeable depending
on if you publish to or from the live web. If you publish to the live web
it is the *remote* server if you publish from the live web it is the *local*
machine.
I'm not sure what you're trying to do....but I think you want to asking how
to publish to your computer from the web server or from your computer to the
web server (??). It's not about *changing the name* of the local web. Also,
there's nothing on your site at
http://bytheindigorabbit.com at the moment.
Are you wanting to publish a photogallery or something (from
Kodakgallery.com?) or are you wanting to publish a web site created in
Expression to your web site?
To publish, open your Expression site (File > Open > Site) and browse to the
location on your hard drive, click Open. It will come up with the list of
files in taht site, so you can then go to File > Publish Site, specify the
URL to your live site, logon with the details your host/ISP given you for
your web hosting.
Or, if working directly on the live site (not a good idea in case their
systems go down, if you don't have a local copy you'll have no back up to
restore the site) open your Expression site (File > Open > Site) type in the
URL to the live site, put in your logon details etc.
If you're working on the live site, to publish down to the local computer
(your PC) go to File > Publish Site, then to Remote Site Properties, and
choose "Local File system" (since you're publishing to your computer).
This would be:
http://bytheindigorabbit.com to C:\documents and
setttings\[username]\my documents\my webs\bytheindigorabbit.
In the Remote Web Site tab, choose "File System", specify a location on your
hard drive (e.g. c:\bytheindigorabbit, although most people would publish
to the "My Webs" folder.
In the same way if you want to publish from your PC to the web server, you
open the site locally from the location on your hard drive, and type in the
URL to the site using the 'Frontpage' or FTP method (which ever your host
supports; http: requires the server extensions).
This would be: C:\documents and setttings\[username]\my documents\my
webs\bytheindigorabbit. to
http://bytheindigorabbit.com
You don't need the '.com' bit for the local folder name.
I'm not sure if this addresses or even answers your question but hope it
leads to a solution for you.
If not, please explain in specific detail exactly what you want to do - is
it something to do with Kodakgallery - like publishing a photo gallery type
thing, and exactly why you need to change the local site name (which is the
remote site from a different POV as explained above)?
I can't access that link you've given - the kodak gallery site prompts for
a login.

My local site is named

it
to C:\bytheindigorabbit.com. Here's a link to a screenshot so you can
understand what I need to do.

I can't publish until I get it changed it seems.
Thanks loads for any help,
