Perhaps if you gave a description of what the program did?

Hello Bill:

I think someone is being a little lazy. A google search or a search of
alt.comp.freeware would have given the link.

Since I'm such a nice guy, here it is.

You can also try these others as well:

Flexible Renamer < I use this one!!

or

THE Rename - English description

No, I mean specifically what that program cb12 is refering to did. I
know what a rename program does (renames files en mass), but there are
various programs by that name. What I was looking for was some
specific feature that would have better enabled me to determine which
of those programs cb12 had been using and was now looking for again.

Same one I use...not bad, but it phones home. Looks a little
amateurish, but works well enough with a ton of options

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac?
He would stay up late every night and wonder if there was a dog.
Remove yourhat to reply ... but it
may take a while. Best to go to www (dot) mistergeek (dot) com and
reply from there.

Startup parameter:

/noc "No Online Check". Skips the checking for new versions. Prevents
1-4a from connecting to the internet.

My favorite is Oscar's Renamer because of it's extreme ease of use. I never
could figure out The Rename.

If I have to do files in bulk, I use BK Renamer, which operates from the
command line.
