Rename ext's in file folders

In windows 98-2 I could do a c:\desktop\file
folder\rename *.tif *.jpg and mass change ext very rapid.
I am unable to do this in XP.Can anyone help!

I don't think Windows XP will do a batch
format conversion.

The excellent freeware IrfanView will do it:

IrfanView 3.85

(get the plug-ins too)

When you have the program installed...
go to...File / Batch Conversion...I think
you can figure it out from there.

Works exactly the same. Not that your sample is a very useful thing to do. In 98 or XP they will be tif files with a jpeg extension.
